Welcome to our blog for our travels on Sailing Vessel Surface Interval. We are Kris and Mark, and we’re setting sail from Seattle to see the world, above and below the waves. We both dreamed of sailing around the world before knowing how to sail and before meeting each other. Back in 2016, we met on a mutual friend’s sailboat in Puget Sound. The day sail shifted from a planned 6 hours round trip to about 13 hours, with plenty of rain, no wind, no head on the boat, and a dead engine. Talk about a great place to meet! Fast forward 8 years, through lots of learning, our wedding, and moving aboard, and we’re almost ready to untie the lines.

Rain or shine, we love sailing Surface Interval! We’re looking forward to getting out beyond Puget Sound into farther parts of the Salish Sea and beyond.

And we’re looking forward to some warmer weather too!
